Jackie and her partner Laurel wanted to come across deadeorld the next Rizzoli and Isles. She is rude, crude, and a big bitch. I thought I was used to it, but man, this book really challenges me with the swearing. Unfortunately, the FBI is now involved and their interference will only lead to more dead bodies. Her investigation leads her right into the world of vampires and the arms of the sexy P. This was a very interesting story while I thought it was going somewhere, certainly up to the big twist halfway through.
With that and the rather slow pacing, this book just didn’t go well for me. At that moment, the ringing thrum of Deadworld began to abate. She encounters Nick Anderson, year-old vampire who was once a Sheriff and is now a P.
But Nick is hiding secrets of his own. Chapter one opens with Jackie arriving on a murder scene where a little boy has been discarded like trash in a park and her response is all about her hangover: That scene and character aside, the writing was equally lackluster. I wasn’t sure what I was going to think about it, the beginning dragged a deadworrld but I think that was just dexdworld get the book set up.
So the clash is on. So, this duncqn proposal is being worked on with the idea that the current one is dying a slow death and being shuffled to dujcan possibility of e-press or self-publishing. Sep 10, Clay Rylee rated it liked it. That would be boring.
Sorry, your blog cannot share posts by email. It was really slow in places even though I enjoyed some of the character interactions. Now Laurel on the other hand is instantly likable.

Laurel is a medium and can tell their is something otherworldly at play. Yes, I know she’s had a recent trauma…but, jeez… Duncan drew things out just right, making me crazy to know the details behind Nick’s Change, but there was so much of it that was just too pat, too formulaic. Twenty years ago, the first female cop in local history stepped in and turned the town on its head. Genre fiction tends to have groups of pretty dedicated readers. The Story An old vampire has been playing games with Nick Anderson for well over years now.

Today, a crisp, bright September day inFelice Halladay turned her direct gaze upon the ghost and saw it for the first time.
Details here, but it is a view spoiler [ I had no impression that anyone in the FBI except for Jackie believed in Laurel’s powers, but when confronted with a year old vampire, they don’t seem to have a problem with it. Our vamps don’t drink blood, but can hypnotize people so well, except when one does drink blood, the guy goes to the cops? Nobody could go through what she did to secure the stability of a town run amok with mob-controlled violence. As the victims begin to pile up and Jackie experiences a devastating loss, Nick finally breaks down and tells Jackie exactly what is happening.

The Story An old vampire has been playing games with Nick Anderson for well over years now. When Jackie and Laurie attempt to question Nick and his office staff, they are stone walled. But he knows that the villain, Drake, is a vampire with unique powers, much greater than his own, and will easily kill the agents if they deadworlr too close, so he tries unsuccessfully to warn them off and somehow he doesn’t seem to know how end Drake’s reign of terror without their help.
One I really wasn’t expecting, which made for interesting times and all, but still it took over pages to get to that point. Hope you like it. Jackie and her partner and BFF Laurel are doing their best to stop one heartbreaking murder dunacn another.
I like my heroines to be a little angsty but I don’t need full blown psychotic. Her past was horrifyingly disturbed and her life choices are a reflection of dunca.
She had an abusive childhood and now has intimacy and alcohol issues.
With the help of Laurel now a ghost, rememberNick manages to get himself and Jackie into Deadworld or the other side as we like to call it. Forth, the story behind the past history that Nick and the villian share is told 4 times in the book to various characters but never to the reader, also a lot of the dialog felt rushed and forced Jackie is the uptight kind of mean girl and Laurel is the sweet woman who would never piss anyone off, and together they made a good team.
The cover confuses me.
